How it works
The canvas grows by twice the border width in each dimension. The original image is placed in the center at its original size. Only the new margins receive the border color; transparent padding is available in PNG and WebP.

Frequently asked questions
Does a border cover or shrink my photo?
No. It extends the canvas equally on all four sides and leaves the original image dimensions intact. A width of zero adds no margin.
Can I keep a transparent background?
PNG and WebP preserve transparency inside the original and can use transparent margins. JPEG fills all transparent areas with the selected color.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Processing and downloads happen in your browser. Animated images become a single still image.
