How it works
Each rectangular block receives the average color of its pixels, weighted by alpha. Partial blocks at the right and bottom edges are retained, so the dimensions do not change.

Should I use this to hide confidential information?
Use the redaction tool with solid covering for confidential content. A mosaic can retain recognizable shapes and colors.
Are my images uploaded?
No. These tools process image data on your device. Images and encoded text are not saved to your account.
Which images are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP up to 8192 px per side and 16 million pixels. Pixel-based effects and comparison use a single still frame of animated files. Base64 conversion preserves original bytes and has a 5 MiB file limit.
